Description
Take a look at these amazing shell jasper spheres! Also known as shell marble, thousand eye stone, sea shell jasper, they are actually brachiopod fossils preserved in gray limestone. They can appear with black, white, and gray colored patterns that were conglomerate group of fossils. These spheres have inclusions of what appears to be white quartz, but is likely calcite.
We only have two of these amazing spheres. Get yours today!

A Little More About Brachiopods
Brachiopods are marine invertebrates that have two shells enclosing their soft body parts. Brachiopod fossils are the preserved remains of these ancient creatures, which lived in the oceans for hundreds of millions of years. These fossils are characterized by their symmetrical shells and can be found in various shapes and sizes. Brachiopod fossils are important for understanding the evolution of marine life and are valuable to paleontologists studying ancient ecosystems.
The crystal commonly found in brachiopod fossils and limestone is calcite. Calcite is a mineral that forms in sedimentary rocks like limestone and can also be present in the shells of brachiopods. It often appears as clear, white, or colored crystals and is a common mineral in many geological formations. Calcite is known for its rhombohedral crystal structure and is a key component in the formation of both brachiopod fossils and limestone.
These shell jasper spheres are WYSIWYGs.
For those who are unfamiliar with WYSIWYG, it means: What You See Is What You Get. Pieces identified as WYSIWYGs are not a random pull of stones that are similar to the one(s) pictured. Instead, you receive the actual piece that is pictured.
