One of our favorite suggestions for using raw rose quartz  in gemstone décor is to add them to a crystal or glass plate, bowl, vase, or other container. You can layer them or use them to surround figurines or other display pieces, too. With all of the colors and variation available in gemstone chips, there is almost always a complementary or accent color that will suit your personal style, Southwestern or otherwise.

With these raw rose quartz pieces, we have one other fun décor idea—crystal grids. You may have heard of them before, but outside of the realm of décor. We encourage you get creative with your gemstones. Crystal grids are a great way to do that and raw pieces are great for the centerpiece. You can make impressive displays filled with color and wonder. Try it out and let us know what you think!

How Does Rose Quartz Get Its Color?

The main difference between clear quartz and rose quartz lies in their coloration, which is attributed to trace amounts of impurities present in the crystals. Clear quartz, composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2), is colorless and transparent due to its pure chemical composition. On the other hand, rose quartz gets its delicate pink hue from trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese within the crystal structure. These impurities substitute for silicon atoms in the quartz lattice, causing light scattering that gives rose quartz its characteristic pink color. The presence of manganese is primarily responsible for the pink coloration in rose quartz. If you would like to learn more about rose quartz, check out this link.
