What is Sugar Quartz?
It is a trade name for the way the drusy forms which looks to some like sugar crystals. This texture is created by many tiny quartz crystals growing closely together on a matrix, giving the surface a sparkling and glittering effect. While sugar quartz is not as common as other varieties of quartz, such as clear quartz or amethyst, it is not considered extremely rare either. It can be found in various locations around the world where quartz crystals are formed, and it is often used in jewelry and decorative pieces due to its unique and eye-catching appearance.
This sphere has agate-like formations much like the amethyst drusy sunflower we have available. But why? Quartz, amethyst, and agate are all varieties of the mineral quartz. They can often be found together in the same geological formations or deposits.
